Wax-Tree-Cast: A 3-piece Indie-pop band from Halifax, West Yorkshire formed in mid 2020. The group consists of lead vocalist and bassist Oolagh Hodgson, James Newsome on drums and songwriter Blair Murray on lead guitar. Blair is a former member of Manchester band Twisted Wheel and has also worked with Nile Marr and Johnny Marr on Nile's solo work.Wax-Tree-Cast have featured on BBC 6 Music with Chris Hawkins. Hawkins on seeing the band live said ‘I really fell for them’
The band have also had good support from John Kennedy’s X-posure show on Radio X. Kennedy on playing our last single Fizzed Up called the band ‘The Brilliant Trio from Halifax’.
Recent highlights for the band include playing The Parklands stage at Kendal Calling and Supporting Tim Burgess at Manchester’s Gorilla.
