The Wausau Hmong 50 Year Celebration commemorates five decades of Hmong migration, resettlement, and community-building in Wausau, Wisconsin. Since arriving as refugees in the mid-1970s following the Secret War in Laos, Hmong families have built strong roots while preserving their cultural identity and contributing to the social, cultural, and economic growth of the Wausau community.This milestone event honors the resilience and sacrifices of our elders, recognizes the achievements of multiple generations, and celebrates the rich traditions passed down over 50 years. The celebration will feature cultural performances, storytelling, a Hmong Business Expo highlighting local entrepreneurs, and a Hmong Exhibit showcasing history, artifacts, and community milestones from the past 50 years.
Open to the entire community, the Wausau Hmong 50-Year Celebration invites all to reflect, learn, and celebrate the lasting impact of the Hmong community in Central Wisconsin.
