Join painter & illustrator Nancy O’Connor for a relaxing watercolour flower painting class at Yolly’s florist. We’ll take inspiration from Yolly’s beautiful array of seasonal flowers, with stems and arrangement’s chosen especially for the class to paint from life.
You’ll receive instruction and advice from Nancy who is an illustrator and painter. Her illustrative work utilises watercolour to create colourful, sensitive paintings. She is also a scenic & prop painter within the film industry, working on productions such as HBO’s Chernobyl, Disney’s Cruella and most recently Studio Canal’s Paddington in Peru. The class will start with an introduction to watercolour and a short demo. You’ll start with lively, quick paintings to get used to the medium. Then, having gained confidence, work on longer paintings allowing time to focus on building up layers and thinking about details. We’ll have a short break and light refreshments will be provided.
All materials will be provided, using quality watercolours and paper. Although watercolour paints aren’t particularly messy, the pigment is strong so bare this in mind and avoid wearing your fav jumper just incase!
