The perfect class for all skill levels, beginners and beyond! This half-day workshop explores various techniques for reserving whites in watercolour to create birch trees, including green painter’s tape, masking fluid, and paraffin wax. Participants will experiment with each method to achieve different textures and effects while considering how colour choices can convey seasonal changes.
The session will also cover ways to incorporate these masking techniques into larger, more complex compositions to enhance depth and visual storytelling. No watercolour experience is required, any skill level is welcome. All materials will be provided for use during class, but participants are welcome to bring their own brushes or paints to explore.
Important Note: We will be using masking fluid (provided), which contains latex. This workshop is not suitable for individuals with a latex allergy.
