We are very excited to announce this short course spanning two whole days of painting in two consecutive weeks with popular tutor Caroline Lawrence from Rock ‘n Wool Creations.This 2 week all day Watercolour and Ink Doodle Course is suitable for beginners or those who have done our short courses with Caroline before and would like to expand their techniques. It is ideal for those in the early stages of watercolour painting or who have always wanted to try the medium.
During the two days, Caroline will cover watercolour techniques, brush strokes, colour mixing and methods to practice and grow in confidence.
Using watercolours and waterproof fine liners, you will create some unique and beautiful paintings, cards and bookmarks. We look at watercolour techniques to create different effects and you will learn about and get to use different water colour techniques and brush strokes, and we will learn how to mix and adjust your colours. Caroline will bring lots of resources and ideas to inspire you. No experience necessary. This is a great introduction to using watercolours and doodling. This short course will help you to gain confidence in using watercolours and inks to make some stunning images. Don’t worry if you aren’t great at drawing or feel particularly creative. She will break it down step by step and find a way to make it accessible and doable for all.
If you were part of Caroline’s Short Course in Watercolour and Ink Doodle last year, then she will be teaching a host of different techniques and pictures, building on your previous knowledge. If you are new to this course then she will nurture and guide your journey in Watercolour.
Tuition, all resources and tea, coffee and cake are included. You will need to bring a packed lunch.
It can be a little messy, so old clothes are advised – aprons will be provided.
Caroline teaches a number of different creative workshops and classes in various mediums, including watercolour and ink, gel printing, needle felting, lampshade making, candle and paper making. Watch out for more of her workshops and classes at Southern Maltings!

The workshop is being run with a maximum capacity of 12 and will run from 9.30am – 3.30pm on Monday 2nd June and the following Monday 9th June at the same time.
The session will be held in our downstairs functions space.
This watercolour and Ink Doodling Short Course is costed at £140 for the four 3 hour sessions, running over 2 consecutive weeks.
