Sometimes the best way to paint flowers is to let go of trying to paint them perfectly. This relaxed watercolor class focuses on capturing the feeling of azaleas in bloom through loose brushwork and soft color blending.Students will explore simple techniques like wet-on-wet painting, color mixing, and expressive brush marks while creating a small floral painting. We’ll work with a limited palette and allow the water and pigment to create natural, organic shapes.
Open to all skill levels, this class encourages a playful, low-pressure approach to watercolor. Rather than focusing on realism, students are invited to experiment, loosen up, and enjoy the process of painting.
Participants will leave with a small 4” x 6” painting on 140 lb watercolor paper, created with professional-quality paints, along with increased confidence in watercolor and a fresh, more intuitive approach to painting.
