Water Stewardship

Protect our freshwater wetlands! Snug Harbor’s natural areas need your help. Come to clear trails, safeguard community access, and restore the ecological balance. Invasive plant species are a major concern in Snug Harbor’s wetlands and waterfront. Their fast growing, nutrient depleting adaptations disrupt the ecosystem by reducing plant diversity, decreasing food and shelter for wildlife. Invasive plants also aid in the increased rate of erosion in the riparian zones. Stewardship focuses on identifying invasive species and utilizing techniques to either slow their growth or remove them.
We will be outside getting dirty and doing physical work. Wear appropriate clothes you do not mind getting dirty and bring a water bottle. Event will happen rain or shine! We welcome youth over 14 years of age. Anyone 13 years and younger must be under the direct supervision of a caregiver. Registration preferred, walkups are welcome!
