About this Event
This session will bring together infrastructure owners, utilities, public sector partners, landowners, project developers and other organisations with a stake in long-term resilience, to explore the North-West opportunity for nature-based water resilience.
More than 50 cross-sector organisations are already collaborating through Nature North to support large-scale, investable nature recovery across the North of England. Investing in nature recovery can help deliver multiple returns, including reduced flood and drought risk, improved water quality, carbon storage, green jobs and wider economic resilience.
The event will include:
Morning session (10:00 – 12:30)
Framing the North-West opportunity, followed by a small number of live project spotlights demonstrating how nature-based approaches can deliver tangible benefits for businesses, infrastructure, communities and the environment
Afternoon session (13:30 – 16:30)
A leadership discussion with infrastructure and public sector organisations, followed by smaller breakout conversations focused on how to move from project concepts to investable, scalable delivery, and concluding with next steps and follow-up actions
The aim is not simply to showcase projects, but to create a space for more concrete conversations around what beneficiaries of water resilience need, where public support and project capability align, and how stronger models for co-funding, co-design and delivery can be developed.
