*FREE EVENT* Water Pool-ooza at the Waste Recovery Resource Facility (WRRF)! is a FREE, family event designed to introduce 4th-12th grade students to the journey of their drinking water, careers in water, conservation efforts, and how to become a water champion. For the best experience, arrive at the Leslie E. Tassell MTEC Building, 22 Godfrey S.W., for hands-on learning stations and activities, and then take the free shuttle two minutes down the road to the WRRF to take a tour of the plant, then ride the shuttle back.
Take a behind‑the‑scenes journey through our wastewater facility and follow used water as it’s transformed back into clean water! From the moment it arrives through pipes underground to the hardworking microbes that help clean it, you’ll see every step of the process. Learn how wastewater becomes safe to return to nature and discover the science and careers that keep our water systems flowing.
A guided tour will follow the path of water throughout the City of Grand Rapids WRRF and engage in hands-on activities led by water professionals, City staff, and community partners.
By participating in Water Pool-ooza at the WRRF attendees will learn about the importance of our natural water resources and begin to understand their role as water champions within our community.
