About this Event
Learn the art of Suminagashi, an ancient Japanese water marbling technique, with local artist Julia Starr. Watch as sumi ink droplets bloom and swirl across the water in mesmerizing, organic patterns that never repeat. In this class, you’ll create your own unique marbled prints perfect for collaging or framing as works of art for your home. You’ll discover why this meditative art form has captivated artists for centuries.
You're invited to slow down, embrace play, and have fun! This workshop is for all skill levels. Be prepared to get a little messy while making art. Bring an apron or wear an old shirt if you’d like to protect your clothes from ink.
This class is recommended for ages 13+.
Street parking is free and untimed on the weekends. Attendees may also park in the lot between Sixth and Zero and Nando or in the Locust Street garage.
