Did you know wetlands quietly protect our world by slowing floods, cleaning water, storing carbon, and supporting an incredible web of life? In Ontario, we steward 25% of Canada's wetlands, yet nearly 70% of wetlands in southern Ontario have already been lost. We are fortunate to have one right here in Grimsby, a remarkable habitat that people can explore and learn from. Wild at Heart Niagara welcomes local naturalist Bruce Mckenzie to the Grimsby Library. Discover how a bold vision, patience, hard work, and thoughtful human care helped nature flourish. Hear the story behind the transformation of a former sewage lagoon into the Grimsby Wetlands, where wildlife has returned and biodiversity has increased.
