About this Event
WASTED: Save the Food Festival
Kitchens for Good and Big Table are bringing back WASTED - a tastemaker event that challenges premier chefs to take food items that would typically be WASTED from their kitchen and re-purpose them into a bite-sized small plate.
WASTED starts with a delectable Dinner Party for on the evening of Friday, October 11th from 6PM-9PM where you will get to experience a five-course dinner and learn about sustainable food practices with your delicious meal.
Afterward, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 13th from 12PM-3PM, join us at South Promenade in Liberty Station, San Deigo for the Festival - where you'll discover delicious ways to repurpose leftovers, learn about sustainable eating habits, and enjoy live cooking demonstrations. VIP ticket holders are granted entry to the festival at 11AM. At the festival guests will have the chance to vote on their favorite creations. The event works to bring the idea of sustainability to the consciousness of both chefs and consumers and create a call to action rethinking our food waste.
This in-person dinner party and festival are the perfect opportunities to mingle with like-minded food enthusiasts and support two local San Diego non-profits: Kitchens for Good and Big Table.
Proceeds will support Kitchens for Good, a San Diego non-profit organization that tackles issues of barriers to employment and food waste, and Big Table, another local non-profit organization that provides direct care and support to workers in the restaurant and hospitality industry who are facing hardship. When communities work together, even the toughest problems can be solved.
Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference while indulging in some tasty treats!
