About this Event
Washday Blues takes places in an authentic laundry building where the Normanby Hall estate’s clothing and linens were laundered between the 1890's and the outbreak of the First World War.
During this workshop, the children will discover the harsh realities of washing and drying clothes in Victorian times. They will compare the laundry routines of the rich residents of Normanby, poorer Victorians and those of the present day.
This workshop lasts approximately 1 hour 45 mins and is aimed at children at KS1 and KS2 Please meet our Learning Assistant at the Gift Shop at 10:15 to complete registration.
To accommodate as many children as possible, we prefer not to exceed a ratio of one adult for each family group.
The price of £6.30 per child taking part includes entry into the Park for one child and one accompanying adult. Each child taking part will need a ticket.
If you are booking for a group, we require at least one adult for every six children.
Please let us know about any additional needs within your family group. You can contact the team on 01724 296039 to chat to us.
The team would be happy to recommend alternative things to do around Normanby Hall Country that might be more relevant for older or younger children.
Babies under 2 years of age are free, but please do let the team know in advance if you are bringing additional children.
You will be required to show your ticket at the ticketbooth for entry.
Please note that following your purchase you will be contacted by our team with a form to request further details about ages of children and any additional needs. You details will not be used for anything else and will only be held until after the workshop has taken place.
