From Elizabeth I to wartime spies, meet the extraordinary women who changed history over 400 years.
About this Event

As we walk through the beautiful National Portrait Gallery, you will see and hear about politicians, queens, campaigners and spies.

This tour will introduce you to women who have shaped history: fighting for the vote, equal pay…their religion, their country. Not heroines, not villains, many flawed. But all the women portrayed fought for what they thought was right, often against the odds.... and they changed the world.

We will encounter the daring adrenalin junkie known as Churchill's favourite spy, and meet the reluctant revolutionary who went from weeping child bride to a queen who usurped her father.

The tour includes the famous, the infamours as well as other characters who are fading from historical memory but who deserve to live on in our hearts and minds.

It will be 1 hour 30 minutes of entertainment, insight, emotion and inspiration.

We meet in the reception area of the gallery AFTER the bag check at security. I will be standing in front of the display of busts in the lobby wearing a City of Westminster lanyard.
