Silat and Eskrima Wednesdays at the Mullumbimby Netball Courts Unleash the Power Within: Self-Defense, Fitness, and Meditation
Embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment with Silat and Eskrima at the Mullumbimby Netball Courts. Our Warrior Wednesdays sessions offer a dynamic fusion of Southeast Asian martial arts deeply rooted in the traditions of Silat and Eskrima.
Experience the Meditative Dance of Silat: Immerse yourself in the ancient discipline of Silat, a Malay martial art known for its dance-like movements. Cultivate fluidity and mindfulness as you enhance physical fitness and establish a profound connection between mind, body and the environment.
Discover the Art of Eskrima: Dive into the world of Eskrima, where the focus is on combat techniques using single and double sticks. Master the art of stick fighting with precision and finesse, exploring the practical and dynamic facets of this Filipino martial art. Our classes also cover stick and knife disarms, providing crucial skills for self-defense and personal safety.
Meditate on the Blade: Explore a diverse array of traditional weapons, including the bo staff, jo staff, short sticks, various swords, and knives. Delve into the artistry of each weapon, embodying their unique qualities and techniques. While invaluable for self-defense, these skills also serve as a pathway to self-cultivation. Embrace the dual nature of these tools, combining combative aspects with a meditative journey of personal development.
Tailored Teaching in a Welcoming Environment: Our classes prioritise a small and informal setting, enabling us to tailor lessons to your individual needs. Preserving and passing on traditional teachings, we focus on enabling each student to reach their full potential. All abilities and ages are warmly welcomed.
Meet Your Guide: With over a decade of experience in Southeast Asian martial arts (Silat, Eskrima & Krabi Krabong), Aimo Javier, a Senior Instructor in the Zhong Ding Traditional Martial Arts Association, brings a wealth of knowledge to guide you on your martial arts journey. Aimo also shares his 20 years of traditional Chinese martial arts experience by offering weekly tai chi, bagua and medical qigong classes during Tai Chi & Qigong Thursdays — an opportunity to discover the holistic benefits of these ancient practices, promoting balance, flexibility, and mental clarity.
Tea Ceremony Finale: Every session concludes with a soothing tea ceremony, included in the cost. It's a moment to reflect, connect, and appreciate the journey you're on with Tai Chi Forest.
Join us every Wednesday for an empowering exploration of Silat and Eskrima. Enhance your self-defense skills, improve fitness, and experience the transformative power of South East Asian combative martial arts.
