Join us for an engaging presentation and conversation with authors Darren Rix and Craig Cormick, as they reveal, for the first time, the First Nations story of Captain Cook’s arrival and what Indigenous Australians want everyone to understand about the coming of Europeans.
About the Authors
Darren Rix is a Gunditjmara GunaiKurnai man with Ngarigo bloodlines, who has worked in various cultural roles, including as a radio reporter and a cultural sites officer. He has strong ties to both Ngunnawal country and his family’s history, including his uncle, Archie Roach.
Dr. Craig Cormick OAM is an award-winning author and science communicator, born on Dharawal Country, currently living in Canberra on Ngunnawal land. He has published numerous books, edited several literary works, and served in leadership roles within the ACT writing community.
This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from First Nations voices about Australia’s history.
