Warhammer World: Underworlds Rivals Clash - February 2025

Welcome to the Warhammer World Rivals Clash, a fun night’s; gaming at the Home of the Games Workshop hobby! It’s the perfect place to spend an evening battling in the Mortal Realms, especially if you’re just starting out on your Warhammer Underworlds journey, or prefer your Warhammer Underworlds action without any deck-building.

If you're looking to play some casual games of Rivals format Warhammer Underworlds, then grab your models, your deck, your dice and your tokens and come on down for three great games in the Deathgorge!

Event Essentials

Number of Rounds: 3 (each consisting of a single game of Warhammer Underworlds)

Rivals

This event uses the Rivals format, designed for quick easy play. You can take a look at how the Rivals format works here.

Best Coast Pairings

We will be using Best Coast Pairings (BCP) for this event, to register players and record results. Simply access BCP via an internet browser on your phone, then, register with the event from the day before. We’ll be able to send you table pairings, placings, and everything else through BCP on the night.

Don’t worry if you cannot or don’t want to use BCP - the Events Staff can register you and update your results for you throughout the evening.

Event Schedule

5:30pm - 5:55pm: Registration

5:55pm - 6:00pm: Welcome

6:00pm - 7:00pm: Game 1

7:00pm - 7:20pm: Break

7:20pm - 8:20pm: Game 2

8:20pm - 8:45pm: Break and Best Warband judging

8:45pm - 9:45pm: Game 3 and Favourite Opponent voting

9:45pm -10:00pm: Awards

Preparing for the Clash

You’ll need to bring with you:

- 1 x Warhammer Warhammer Underworlds Warband

- 1 x Warhammer Underworlds deck, which fully complies with the Rivals format.

- At least one Warhammer Underworlds board section

- Enough tokens, dice etc to get through your games.

- Access to a copy of the Warhammer Underworlds: Deathgorge rules.

Arriving at the Clash

When you arrive, register with the events staff, showing us your ticket on your phone or a print-out. We’ll ask you which warband you’re using (which will also assign you to a Grand Alliance - Order, Chaos, Destruction or Death), make sure you’re signed in with BCP and then assign you a table and opponent for your first game.

Your Warband

You’ll need to bring one Warhammer Underworlds warband with you to play with. This warband does not need to painted BUT if your warband is fully painted, you can enter it in the Best Warband award!

Your Games

You’ll play 3 games, each lasting up to one hour. Your first opponent will be randomised, and after that, you’ll be matched against an opponent on a similar overall score to you. Once the game is done, approach the event staff and let them know the result; we’ll need to know who won the game and the total glory scored by both players.

Scoring

As the clash goes on, players will be ranked in order, first by the number of games they won and second by the total amount of glory they have scored. Win your games if you can, but even if you think you may lose, it’s still worth trying to score any glory points you can!

Uneven Players?

If we happen to have an uneven amount of players, one player per round will get a “bye”, that is, they won’t play a game, but to make up for it, will receive a free win result and +8 glory points. This will usually be the player currently in last position. No player will ever have to miss more than one game in this way.

Best Warband

During the break between Game 2 and 3, all players will have a chance to display their warband. All players will then have a chance to vote for the warband they feel is the best, be that for painting, conversion or anything else they feel. The player whose warband receives the most votes will win the Best Painted Warband award.

Favourite Opponent

At the end of the event, everyone will have a chance to vote for their favourite opponent. You may vote for any one of your three opponents, but you may only vote for a player you played against at this event. The player who receives the most votes will win the Deathgorge Noble award. If many players have the same number of votes, all will receive it!

At the end of the evening, we’ll be awarding the following prizes:

The Warhammer World Rivals Champion: to the overall winner

Best Painted Warband: to the player judged to have the Best Painted Warband

The Knight of Embergard: The Knight of Embergard: To the player who receives the highest number of Favourite Game votes. If it's a tie, the player from these who ranked highest in the event takes the award.

Sigmar’s Chosen: For the highest placing player using an Order warband

The Chosen of the Dark Gods: For the highest placing player using a Chaos warband

Nagash’s Servant: For the highest placing player using a Death warband

The Realm-stomper: For the highest placing player using a Destruction warband

This ticket is issued by Games Workshop Limited (GW) for Warhammer World Rivals Clash - February 2025 at the Warhammer World Venue, Lenton (Venue), and is subject to the following terms and conditions:

• No children under the age of 18 years will be admitted to the Venue unless accompanied and supervised by an adult aged 18 years or over. GW takes no responsibility for children under the age of 18, responsibility shall remain with the parent or guardian of the relevant child at all times.

• No smoking is permitted at the Venue other than in areas designated for smoking.

• No food or drink is to be brought into the Venue. The Venue will make available food and drink for purchase.

• The unauthorised professional use of photographic equipment is prohibited at the Venue.

• Event details, timings and car park arrangements are subject to change and should be checked prior to travelling.

• GW and the Venue both reserve the right to conduct security searches to all persons attending the Event and their possessions.

• GW and the Venue both reserve the right to, at their sole discretion, refuse access to, or remove from the Venue, without a refund any person who

- unreasonably refuses to be searched;

- is considered harmful, undesirable or offensive; or

- is deemed necessary to remove in the interests of security.

• The Venue is accessible to wheelchair users via the North entrance.

• Animals are not permitted at the Venue with the exception of assistance dogs.

• Official merchandise is only available inside the Venue.

• All attendees must be in possession of a valid ticket at all times. Obscured or altered tickets will become void and the holder may be refused admission.

• Neither GW nor the Venue accepts responsibility for personal property brought into the Venue.

• Entry to the Event is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, GW and the Venue exclude all liability for loss, damage or injury suffered by an attendee howsoever caused.

• Attendees shall be responsible for and indemnify GW fully for any loss or damage to GW’s property, the Venue or the furnishings or equipment at the Venue caused by the act or default of an attendee.

• GW may cancel or vary the Event (in whole or in part) due to events or circumstances beyond GW’s control. Where we cancel the Event in its entirety, you will be offered a refund. However, in all other circumstances (including where we make changes to the Event), you will not be offered a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

• Purchased tickets cannot be transferred or resold without the express permission of GW.

• Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase, except in the case of a cancelled Event. This does not affect your statutory rights.

• If you are no longer able to attend the Event and wish to discuss this with us, please contact the events team at [email protected].

• Any complaints regarding the Event should be made to GW promptly before or during the Event. Please raise any issues with the tournament organisers and stewards available at the Event, or otherwise by contacting the events team at [email protected]..

• The wearing of costumes at the Event is permitted only on the following basis:

- Costumes must not be comprised, in whole or in part, of any real (or realistic) equipment of any military unit in existence after 1900. This especially applies to camouflage clothing, helmets etc.

- Costumes must not utilise, in whole or in part, any real, scaled or replica weapons.

- Costumes that indicate allegiance or affiliation with any real political or military movement are strictly forbidden.

- Costumes must be designed with health and safety and public decency in mind.

- Costumes must be inspired by or relate to the worlds and universes created by Games Workshop.

- Attendees may be asked to alter or remove any unacceptable costume and/or accessories.
