• 1 x Combat Patrol (painted and based to Battle Ready or better standard)
• 1 x tape measure or range ruler.
• Enough objective markers and dice to play through their games.
• Access to the Warhammer 40,000 Core Rules, Combat Patrol missions and the rules for their chosen Combat Patrol.
Note: Terrain and game boards will be provided.
Your Games
You’ll play three games during the event. Your first opponent will be randomised, and after that, you’ll be matched against an opponent with a similar ranking to you. Each game will last up to one hour - it’s worth familiarising yourself with the Combat Patrol rules and your faction rules before the event, to help ensure you can complete your games within this time frame.
Results
After each game you will need to report the result of the game, as either a win, a draw or a loss for each player, along with your total victory points scored. Players will be ranked in order, first by the number of games they won and second by the total amount of Victory Points they have scored. Win your games if you can, but even if you think you may lose, it’s still worth trying to score any Victory Points you can!
Uneven Players?
If we happen to have an uneven amount of players, one player per round will get a “bye”, that is, they won’t play a game, but to make up for it, will receive a free win result and +45 Victory points. This will usually be the player currently in last position. No player will ever have to miss more than one game in this way.
Best Coast Pairings
We will be using the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) Player app for this event, to register players and record results. Simply download the app onto your phone, then, register with the event from the day before. We’ll be able to send you table pairings, placings, and everything else through the app on the night.
Don’t worry if you cannot or don’t want to use the app - the Events Staff can register you and update your results for you throughout the evening.
Best Patrol
During the break between Game 2 and 3, all players will have a chance to display their Combat Patrols. Players will then have a chance to vote for the Combat Patrol they feel is the best, be that for painting, conversions or anything else worthy of recognition. The player whose Combat Patrol receives the most votes will win the Best Patrol award. Any ties will be broken by the event organisers’ vote.
Favourite Game
After your final game has concluded you’ll need to vote for the opponent you enjoyed playing against the most. The player with the most favourite game votes will receive the Most Sporting Player award, seen by many to be the highest accolade of all. In the case of a tie, the award will be given to the player ranked highest (See Results)
Adaptive Strategist
At each event, a specific Combat Patrol will be selected for the Adaptive Strategist award - the player who ranks highest using the selected Combat Patrol will be awarded this, perfect for those looking for a reason to try another Combat Patrol! The Combat Patrols selected for future events are:
February 2025 - VanTarrion's Voidsmen
April 2025 - Amonhotekh's Guard
June 2025 - Sanctuary Guardians
Awards
At the end of the evening, we’ll be awarding the following prizes:
Combat Patrol Champion: Awarded to the player that ranked first according to the scoring system laid out above.
Second Place: For the player that ranks second.
Third Place: For the player that ranks third.
Best Patrol: Awarded to the player voted to have the Best Combat Patrol.
Most Sporting Player: Awarded to the player with the most favourite game votes.
Adaptive Strategist: For the player who ranks highest with the specified Combat Patrol.
