Land acquisition begins for 5-phase additional Butibori area expansion
Nagpur: The additional Butibori industrial area is set for a five-phase expansion with major industrial projects underway and for which land acquisition process has already begun. MIDC will take possession of these lands in December, sources said.
Emerging as a new industrial hub, additional Butibori is gaining prominence as the existing Butibori and Hingna industrial areas lack available land to accommodate new units. As a result, large-scale industrial projects are planning to establish units in the additional Butibori industrial area, spanning over 5,000 acres.
Butibori MIDC, which has existed for more than 30 years, failed to grow as anticipated. Against this backdrop, the govt is making special efforts to ensure that the additional Butibori industrial area spurs regional growth.
Industries dept former secretary Harshdeep Kamble said mega projects are in the pipeline due to the ample land availability in the additional Butibori area. Sources added that entrepreneurs were hesitant to set up units owing to high land rates and noted that industrial associations had flagged the issue of having to pay rates similar to

Land acquisition
So far, the land acquisition process has started for phase 1 in Sawangi, Asola, Ghogli and Bhanusali villages; Mangli, Chicholi, Chimnazahri, Mohgaon, Kawtha villages in phase 2; Parsodi village in phase 3 while Haldgaon, Seldoh, Dorli villages will be acquired in phase 4. The search for required land for phase 5 is on. The acquisition process for 3,000 acres of land is nearing completion.
