In the Scot-t Fest opening talk, Kirsteen McCue will introduce her audience to Scottish Song Culture. Her academic talk is open to everyone and will be supported by musical interludes featuring the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir.
Kirsteen McCue is Professor of Scottish Literature and Song Culture and leader of the new research initiative ‘Spheres of Singing’, establishing a range of new singing-related projects with colleagues across multiple disciplines at the University. She is currently working on British National Song culture during the period 1750–1850, after having led the Romantic National Song Network funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh 2017-2019. Most recently she led the relaunch of the Bibliography of Scottish Literature in Translation, another RSE network, between 2021-23.
