At 88 years young, Walt’s greatest passion was playing cornhole every Wednesday—and any other time he could. His love for the game, the friendships it built, and the laughter it inspired made him a beloved presence at the lodge. It’s only fitting that we honor his memory through the game he loved most.The tournament will bring together family, friends, and community members for a day of fun and fellowship in Walt’s memory. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Walt Long Memorial Scholarship, which provides financial support to local students pursuing trade school education—reflecting Walt’s belief in the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and community service. Each year, one deserving young man and one deserving young woman will receive a scholarship, ensuring that Walt’s legacy supports opportunities for both equally.
