About this Event
Pack a picnic, bring a beach chair, and head to New World Symphony for a free WALLCAST® Concert. Thanks to a soaring, 7,000-square-foot-projection wall and surround sound speakers, you'll be immersed in a live symphonic performance beneath the palm trees and bougainvillea.
Tune in live from SoundScape Park when conductor Domingo Hindoyan leads New World Symphony in Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony.
When Dvořák composed his Ninth Symphony, he was living in America and longing for the Czech countryside he’d left behind. His music captures an ache for belonging and thrill of discovery that feels as relevant now as it did in 1893.
Not unlike Dvořák and his journey through America, the Fellows of your New World Symphony come to Miami Beach from all over the world, in search of a creative community to call home.
This performance also features Alban Gerhardt, hailed by The Guardian as “one of the finest cellists around.”
Alban Gerhardt began his career with the Berlin Philharmonic when he was just 21 years old. Now an in-demand soloist, he’s gained recognition as one of the world’s most versatile cellists, highly regarded for his technical mastery, profound musicality, and insatiable artistic curiosity. At the November 15 WALLCAST® Concert, Gerhardt makes his New World Symphony debut with Shostakovich’s Second Cello Concerto.
All are welcome! Bring friends, family, and pets to this relaxed outdoor concert.
