About this Event
The Walla Walla Balloon Stampede, held annually on Mother’s Day weekend, is a vibrant event where the skies fill with colorful hot air balloons against the stunning backdrop of Walla Walla's wine country. Visitors can enjoy mass ascensions at sunrise, when dozens of balloons rise together, and the magical Night Glow event, where balloons light up the night. Alongside these, there are various food vendors, entertainment, and family activities that make the festival a fun-filled weekend.
If you’re looking to take to the skies, Seattle Ballooning is the local hot air balloon company operating in Walla Walla during the Stampede. While Seattle Ballooning is not part of the official festival (as no commercial balloon activities are permitted on the Stampede field), they offer flights from a nearby launch site throughout the week. This gives guests a chance to experience a real hot air balloon ride during the festivities, offering stunning views of the Walla Walla Valley and making your visit truly memorable.
