Welcome to Freshwalks. This Walks for Women event is part of our own vibrant business community programme and women in business are welcome to join us for some invigorating networking in the great outdoors. This monthly series offers a perfect entry level option and is ideal for those with busy diaries. Feel free to come alone - most Freshwalkers do - and you'll be warmly welcomed or invite a colleague or client along for company.
Route description
This circular walking route starts and finishes in Disley which lies in the north east corner of Cheshire, between the Cheshire Plains and the lowerslopes of the Pennines and the Peak District. This glorious parkland route will see us initially walk along the Gritstone Trail climbing gently as we leave Disley. We’ll then enter Lyme Park via East Lodge and head towards the centre of the park where we'll stop for some refreshments at the cafe. Thereafter, we’ll walk upto The Cage which should afford a fabulous panoromic view across South Manchester and back towards the city. We’ll then begin the descent and wander back to the Ram’s Head in Disley.

10:15 - Meeting, Disley station
10:30 - Walk starts
11:45 - Cafe & toilets, Lyme Park
13:00 - Walk finishes, The Ram's Head, Disley

Parking: Pub customers can use the pub car park though you will need to validate your parking upon your return at the end of the walk. Alternatively, reasonably priced Pay & Display parking next door at the station for those looking to head off post-walk.
Public transport: Please take the 09:51 train from Manchester Piccadilly (via Stockport 10:04) to arrive in Disley at 10:22
Toilets: None directly at start though there are a couple of cafes 5 mins walk away in Disley village. Please arrive early if you need to go find them. We plan to stop for a coffee and toilets just over an hour into the walk
Post-walk: The Ram's Head, Disley (optional refreshments and/or lunch)
