About this Event
Join us for Walking What We Carry: A Spring Grief Walk at the beautiful Albany Pine Bush Preserve. The Albany Pine Bush is one of only about 20 inland pine barrens in the world — formed 12,000 to 15,000 years ago after the drainage of a glacial lake, leaving behind rolling sand dunes, an unusual sight in upstate New York. It's open, spare, ancient, full of sky, and in late May, wild blue lupine, pink lady slipper, and wild columbine bloom through the preserve.
This in-person event is all about moving through grief together in nature. Come as you are, carry what you need, and connect with others on this gentle walk.
Grief doesn't sit still in the body and sometimes the most honest thing we can do with it is move. Walking What We Carry is a gently facilitated outdoor walk for anyone navigating loss of any kind: a person, a relationship, an identity, a season of life that has ended.
No agenda. No fixing. No pressure to speak. Just the trail, the spring air, and a small group of people who understand what it is to carry something heavy.
Suggested contribution: $20, sliding scale. No one turned away for inability to pay.
