About this Event
On this walk we follow the route of an abandoned Victorian railway. In the mid 1930s plans were made to convert it to become part of the Underground, but war intervened and it never happened. The traffic dwindled and the line was closed to passengers in July 1954. Large stretches of the route are now a public walkway but in other places the route is no longer accessible. However we can follow the approximate route from just north of Finsbury Park station all the way to Alexandra Palace. We pass the locations of Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill stations amongst others and, along the way see a few of the remnants of this forgotten line and get a good panoramic view of the skyline of central London.
