About this Event
Join the LA County Chief Sustainability Office, the LA County Department of Public Health PLACE program, and LA County Public Works for a walking tour of the East Los Angeles Sustainable Median Stormwater Capture Project. This innovative project improves water quality, increases water supply, and enhances recreation and the community. The project captures and infiltrates approximately 21 acre-feet of urban and stormwater runoff from a 3,000-acre tributary area of mostly residential and commercial land areas. The project also provides above ground improvements such as jogging paths, drought tolerant landscaping, plant over 300 trees, and educational signage.
