This walk around the Thames town of Gravesend looks at people who have arrived and departed over the years. On the walk you'll hear about the Sikh people who have made Gravesend their home, including a Battle of Britain hero. You'll see the Fort built to defend London against the Americans, the pier where from where pilots boats leave to escort ships into Tilbury and where Queen Victoria arrived by boat. You'll see the chapel built for destitute people leaving for a new life in Canada, and a statue commemorating Pocahontas who was buried here after a visit to London.
