We take a sacred walk through London and greet the seven centres in the land and within you. We'll talk on May, its gifts and insights.
About this Event

Take a sacred walk through hidden London with me. A pilgrimage through the fascinating city landscape of London.

The exact route we will take will be revealed closer to the time, as it comes from the place and where we are all in that moment. Revealed two weeks prior to the walk, the starts are either the Tower of London or the Globe Theatre. The London Stone is used as a marker as it marks the heart of the City of London and is often a focus for any of the walks I do. It is NOT the official meeting place.

You will get an email or notification of the route.

The Festival of Beltane or the Festival of Unification(May 1st) celebrates the start of the season of summer. We see the conclusion of spring and we welcome in a new season and the period of elevated growth.

It is the time we make vows to ourselves and traditionally it was a time of marriage and so those vows were made to each other. We have seen, with each festival, the nature of what we are working with become elevated from dedication, to promise and now vows.

It is a time of great joy as we see the streams of all our work come together and we can put our energy behind everything we want to grow in the certain knowledge that, with our work come to culmination, we can see our path ahead and join together in moving forward with flow.

Traditionally, this moment symbolises this joining or unifying with the maypole. We see those ribbons that symbolise the different strands or our being, woven together into one pattern of beauty within a rhythm and a collaboration that creates this moment of joy and harmony that we take forward into the summer.

We approach this festival on the first day of the month, after the preparation of April has given us the gifts of foresight as to the vows we must make and cleansed us, with its April showers, of all that is not dedicated to this final focus. We arrive spring cleaned and ready for growth.

Pilgrimage.

London-based landscape designer Jeremy Rye will be leading guided tours of the four London walks that were known to Kings and Queens since the beginning of the monarchy in England.

These spiritual walks were undertaken by the monarchs and the landscape keepers of the time. They would journey at specific points in their reign, at certain times of the year or for the marking of events. These were not only a means of navigating a city but seen as instrumental in maintaining its health, spiritual and commercial success.

Unlike a typical history tour, this is an opportunity for participants to mirror these spiritual journeys, in part to strengthen our sense of self, answer questions we have and to transform. They are an ideal companion to other self-reflection practices such as journaling, therapy or meditation.

Jeremy Rye is a practicing landscape architect who integrates history and spirituality in his work.

Route:

There will be seven stops made along the way where Jeremy will both point out historic architectural features, they're history and their connection to a spiritual question. Participants are invited to use these stops not only to listen but find answers for themselves.

Accessibility:

The walk will take on average 3 hours with a break and is not wheelchair accessible.

The walk will take part no matter the weather and tickets are non-refundable.
