Dr Miriam Rose explains the cultural practice of Dadirri by the Ngangiwumirr people, is a contemplative practice of listening deeply to the sounds, stirrings and whisperings of the land. It is where one sits in stillness to listen, observe, smell, feel and connect the land.
Dr Miriam Rose says Dadirri is a way of being that is passed down through generations, and although "Dadirri belongs to Country — but it can guide hearts and minds everywhere”.
This is because practicing Dadirri is also healing, as it enables one to reconnect with oneself, others through the power of the land.
The Walking in Dadirri Group meet monthly to go on walks together. These walks offer a space to be with Gaia and receive her healing energy through connection with the land and inspired by the Ngangiwumirr people's practice of Dadirri 🥾👣🌏✨
All are welcome. No prior experience required.
Bring a water bottle, hat and walking comfortable shoes.
All walks will be slow paced and on moderate to even ground. This is not about fitness. It's about connection.
The April walk is at Black Swan Lake, Lakelands. This is a 1.5km class 1 walk and is wheelchair accessible (some unpaved track on hard ground).
It's approximately a 45-60 minute walk.
We meet in the main carpark off lake valley drive at 9:15am for a 9:30 start.
