About this Event

Together, we are offering a new walking tour through the streets of historic Lincoln, uncovering hidden heritage stories and highlighting the experiences of historically marginalised communities.

Lincoln has a long and fascinating heritage that is tied into the fabric of English history. However, popular narratives often overlook themes such as diversity, migration, LGBTQIA+ visibility, well-being and gender. The Reimagining Lincolnshire project seeks to identify these gaps and celebrate the resilience, creativity and contributions of those who have too often been excluded. This walking tour has been designed to showcase some of these stories, taking in key points of interest and highlighting alternative perspectives from the city’s history.

Lincoln Free Walking Tour was established in 2021 by friends Brant and Matt, and provides multi award winning free, prepaid, and private walking tour experiences through the streets of historic Lincoln.

Access information

This walking tour is open to everyone, and we aim to make it as accessible as possible. The route takes place within a historic city environment, which includes cobbled streets, uneven surfaces, and a steep hill. A Walk and Ride bus is available locally and can be used to return to the top of the route if needed.

Preparing for the tour
This is a walking tour through historic Lincoln, so please wear comfortable footwear and sensible clothing for walking on cobbles and uneven ground. We recommend dressing for the weather and bringing layers or waterproofs if needed, as the tour will go ahead outdoors in all conditions.
