About this Event
Lichen are unique organisms that can appear as crusty patches, leafy growths, or soft forms that sometimes resemble moss. The catch is, they aren’t plants! Lichen are actually a mix of fungi and algae.
Join us for a walk on the Bell’s Learning Landscape with lichen expert Dr. Natalia Mossmann Koch. We will learn how to identify different types of lichen in the area and hear about Natalia’s research on lichen as air quality monitors.
Learning Landscape walks will remain on the flat, paved sidewalk just outside of the museum. Walks are capped at 20 participants. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket sales will open thirty days prior to the event. Registration closes the Wednesday before the event or when we are at capacity.
