Walk Safe with a Doc is brought to you by Walk Safe Long Island and Catholic Health's St. Charles Hospital
Walkers meet at the flagpole outside the hospital's main entrance.
Dr. Brett Silverman of St. Charles Hospital will discuss the health benefits of walking and pedestrian safety expert Cynthia Brown will provide tips for walking safely before leading attendees on a walk around the hospital campus and the surrounding neighborhood.
The walking route is approximately 1.5 miles around Belle Terre / Port Jefferson.
Walk Safe Long Island (WSLI) is produced for the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety (NYCTS) by the Long Island Health Collaborative (LIHC), funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with a grant from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC).
