Walk for Ukraine - a community walk of solidarity - 4 miles
Join us for a gentle, welcoming walk in support of the Ukrainian community on the Isle of Wight. This walk is open to Ukrainians living on the Island, as well as friends, families, and allies who wish to come together in solidarity.
Starting at Newport Quay, we’ll walk through Seaclose and along the Medina Greenway to Island Harbour. We’ll pause at The Cockle where light refreshments can be purchased, before returning to Newport along the same route.
We’ll take a relaxed pace, creating space for conversation, connection, and quiet reflection. Whether you come to meet others, share stories, or simply walk alongside the community, you’ll be warmly welcomed. This is not a challenging hike; just an opportunity to move together, enjoy the riverside setting, and show support through presence.
Supported by Community Action Isle of Wight, this walk aims to bring people together in a spirit of kindness, inclusion, and shared humanity. Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather.

Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.
Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.
Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile. Not suitable for walkers with mobility impairment of any kind
