Walk for Dog Guides OYRHLC - Supporting Independence & Mobility

Join the Ontario York Region Heritage Lions Club for our annual Walk for Dog Guides at Ada Mackenzie Park! For over a decade, our community has come together each spring to support Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, and we invite you and your furry friends to be part of this life changing tradition!

Registration is FREE - Donations Gratefully Accepted.

While there is no cost to participation in the walk, donations are warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated. With the generous support of our sponsors, 100% of donations collected go directly to provide Dog Guides that give Canadian mobility, safety, and independence.

Why Your Participation Matters

Each specially trained Dog Guide cost approximately $35,000 to raise and train, yet they're provided completely free to qualified Canadians with disabilities. Since Lions Foundation of Canada receives no govournement funding, events like this makes these partnerships possible.

The Dog Guides we help fund serve diverse needs across our country:

• Canine Vision Dog Guides for People who are blind or visually impared
• Hearing Ear Dog Guides for those who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Service Dog Guides assisting people with physical disabilities
• Seizure Response Dog Guides for individuals with epilepsy
• Autism Assistance Dog Guides for children ages 3-12
• Diabetic Alert Dog Guides detecting dangerous blood sugar drops
• Facility Support Dog Guides helping vulnerable community members in traumatic situations
