Not so much a walk as an outing to the mediaeval Flax Market at Linn Castle in Krefeld. Entrance to the market costs EUR 12 for people over 16 years of age, children between 6 and 16 pay EUR 3, children under 6 pay nothing.
There will be 271 stands – including food stands – showcasing crafts such as glass engraving, candle-making, wig-making, painting on porcelain, weaving and felting. See the full list here:

There will be lots of events at various venues throughout the day, including jousting (Ritterturnier) from 11.30 to 12.30 and from 4.00 to 5.00.
Music, dancing, puppet theatre, fairy tales and a demonstration by the historical fire brigade are also scheduled.

As you can see, the market is the perfect chance to buy unique hand-made presents for friends and family!
The meeting time at the station is very early, but the bird of prey display (Horus-Falknerei), for example, starts at 11 a.m. and we shall have to queue to buy tickets!
Meeting place: opposite Dunkin’ Donuts at the back of the main station at 08.30 p.m. Departure at 08:39 a.m. with the U76 underground train from platform 3, arriving at Krefeld Hauptbahnhof/main station at 09.19. Then at 09:30 tram 044 in the direction of Krefeld Rheinhafen, arriving 11 stops later at Burg Linn at 09:49.
Return journey: the same in reverse.
