Pontypridd ProvocationsA series of walking talks presenting personal perspectives of the places and peoples of Pontypridd, past and present. (And other things that don’t start with ‘P’!)
From January to March 2025 Rage Rage / Oes Oes are inviting locally connected writers, broadcasters, musicians and other artists to take us on personal walks in and around the area. A mixture of ‘facts’, opinions and questions, the idea is to stimulate the mind and body at the same time, and to make us all think about how we see this place…
Oh, and the title is a ‘provocation’ in itself…. no doubt we’ll be in Hopkinstown, Trallwng, Y Graig, Trefforest and in places that no longer exist.
The walks will be of different lengths and durations. We start with a walk led by Daryl Leeworthy, author of the fantastic 2024 book ‘Ponty is it?’.
This is a 4 hour roughly circular walk so is never too far from the centre of Ponty. There will be several refreshment stops on the way.
Date: Sunday 12th January
Meet: 11am in front of Pontypridd library

The walk will go ahead unless the forecast is for more than drizzle, in which case it will be postponed until the following week
