UPDATE: Since the time changed, we decided to move up our Thursday walks to 4:30 so we won't have to walk in the dark. -------
Join us for our 2024 FALL WALKING CHALLENGE! You're welcome to register at any time during this multi-week program as we "Walk Across Florence Parks."
The program will start on Thursday, September 12th and go through November 14th. We will be doing the 1-mile (longer optional) group walks on Thursdays at 5:30pm this fall with some additional parks added on Saturday mornings at 9am.
If you registered for the program in the Spring, you don't have to reapply. We will have registration materials at each walk for anyone new who would like to join the group, or for anyone or who was enrolled in a previous year.
We will have the Activity Journals available for everyone so you can keep track of your progress. If you know anyone who may be interested, please, be sure to share this information with them.
We have expanded to other walking trails outside of Florence and hope that this will be more flexible for peoples' schedules. The YMCA has consented once again to host our walks for inclement weather days. Please thank the YMCA staff, particularly Jan Ingle, for making that available to us.
There will be some additional events of interest this Fall, such as a "Removing Gym Anxiety" program to benefit those who may be timid about going to the gym. There will be a nutrition and diabetes awareness program at First Friday in downtown Florence on November 1st. There will be more details on those events later.
We hope you can join us on a Thursday, or at any time during the Fall walking challenge. We look forward to getting back out on the trail again.
