Buckle up Vancouver... because Wednesday October 8th from 8-11pm Walden plays The Wise Hall & Lounge with a punk rock pirate acoustic invasion!! Mark your calendars and bring your friends.I've been informed that the stage is mine for 3 hours to do whatever I want. Clearly they do not know me that well. But what nobody wants is for me to play for 3 straight hours, including myself.
So, if you wanna play along with a solo performance slot, my stage is your stage. Anywhere from 5-30 minutes is yours. Wanna read some poetry/spoken word? Do it! Been wanting to try a stand up routine? Do it! Wanna do some outlandish performance art? Do it! I don't care what you want to do, just do it! I'm leaning towards somewhat of a cabaret style variety show with space for an open mic.
As you probably know, I'm open to all forms of creative expression, providing a space for your art/voice to be seen/heard, and showcasing the "nobodies" that need to be known. DM me (preferably text/sms) to book your spot.
The first thoughts for my stage time is to open up with an acoustic sing-a-long tribute to 90s alternative, heavy on the b-sides. Then close the night by playing MMXXBS from front to back. Specifically because Civil Disobedience didn't play any songs from it at the album release parties. And, as always, if you wanna back me up with percussion, vocals, skin flute, etc.? LFG!!!
I would also love to have artists of any medium showcasing their work while live painting/drawing/etc in the gallery. These are just initial thoughts that have just over two weeks to expand upon.
The moral of the story is... let's fuck shit up!
