"Waking the Wolf—Tales of Wild and Wise Women" is a rich tapestry of stories woven together with the threads of women’s lives and the men they share their lives with. It shows the bravery, vulnerability, intelligence, humour, and compassion of those who embody the archetypes of both the wild and the wise.
This story was originally inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, but it is and is not that story, set in a time before this time but also of this time. A time of great change.
"The Forest can be perilous or a place of quiet sanctuary, both wild and healing.
It’s magic may be dangerous or transformational and is felt by all those who dare to enter.
This is a story of three generations of women, a young wolf, and a forest steeped in the magic of the ancients. The young girl’s initiation into the forest and her special relationship with her Granny, who lives there, cause the winds of change to blow through the trees.
It is a tale of discovery, growth and desire; the strength and resilience of a love that binds and ultimately offers freedom.
This is a show and a talk which explores women's journey through time and asks the question "What next?".
