The plot centers on a charismatic but controversial Monsignor, Jefferson Wicks, and a young, brooding priest, Jud Duplenticy, who is a former boxer with a troubled past. The murder throws the community into chaos, and Blanc must team up with local police chief Geraldine Scott to navigate a web of faith, fear, and deception to solve the crime.
