Limited to 15 participants Together we will weave 1 waka tūpāpaku at KareNZ Kitz Art Gallery and Studio in Waitara Taranaki.
Friday 5 pm Whanaungatanga. Please bring a shared kai.
Accommodation is not provided.
Learn/practice ngā tikanga o te harakeke and how to prepare the whenu - weaving strips.
The harakeke will already be harvested and some of the preparations done.
Saturday 9 am Karakia - Weaving. Everyone is encouraged to try each part of the process and to take breaks when tired or sore. We do weave on tables.
Tea and coffee etc. are supplied.
Sunday 9 am Poroporoake - Reflections. Blessing the waka. Time for Questions and Answers.
Finish time approximately 11 am.
The cost is $200 per person
