This Easter weekend, slow down, explore, and see Waihī Beach a little differently.The Waihī Beach Easter Weekend Colour Hunt is a relaxed photography challenge that invites locals and visitors to capture the colours of our beautiful coastal community.
Choose a colour from the colour palette in the event cover photo, then spend the Easter long weekend exploring Waihī Beach, Bowentown and Athenree, photographing things you spot in that colour. Think beyond just the colour itself, we’re looking for the moments and places that bring it to life. It might be a red surfboard resting against a fence, a blue boat in the harbour, yellow flowers on a coastal track, or something unexpected hidden in the Village.
Once the weekend wraps up, select your six high-quality images and send them through to [email protected] by Monday evening. If your files are large, WeTransfer works perfectly for sending them through and is free.
The following week, we’ll share some of our favourite colour collages on our social channels, and a few lucky participants will win spot prizes.
Whether you’re a keen photographer, love exploring the outdoors, or simply want a fun creative activity over the long weekend, this is a lovely way to experience Waihī Beach through a different lens.
