Wagashi Workshops
A beginner-friendly series of hands-on cooking workshops to learn the fundamentals of Japanese style confections (commonly called 和菓子 wagashi), traditionally enjoyed with tea.
About the Workshop
Learn about the history, ingredients and basic techniques for two types of Sakura mochi, a favourite spring-time treat from Sen Sakamoto of Kintoki Sweets.The workshop will cover both the classic Kansai mochi version and a special wheat-free recipe of the Kanto crepe style sakura mochi.
Equipment and ingredients will be provided. All skill levels are welcome. However, we will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, so a minimum age of 16 is recommended.
Please bring your own apron and a small container to take home your creations at the end of the class.
PLEASE NOTE: Sakuramochi are vegan friendly and wheat-free but please note the kitchen is not a certified gluten-free kitchen
