Tijdens de 𝗩𝗿𝗶𝗷𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻 presenteren we 9 weken lang een programma rond één of meerdere kunstenaars, een collectief of organisatie.Courtisane festival, Art Cinema OFFoff en Kunsthal Gent presenteren twee filmprogramma’s. De screenings zijn opgebouwd rond klassieke werken van de Sudanese Film Group, en belichten de strijd en beproevingen van het Soedanese volk — verleden en heden — via een brede en vijf decennia omspannende waaier aan activistische documentaires, grassroots-community films, filmessays, fictie, experimenteel werk.
Samengesteld door beeldend kunstenaar Rund Alarabi en programmator Vincent Stroep in de context van de 25ste editie van het Courtisane festival, van 1 — 5 april 2026.

During 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, we present a 9-week programme around one or more artists, a collective or organisation.
Courtisane Festival, Art Cinema OFFoff and Kunsthal Gent present two film programs. Centered around classic works by the Sudanese Film Group, the screenings highlight the struggles and trials of the Sudanese people — past and present — through a broad range of activist documentaries, grassroots community films, film essays, fiction, and experimental work spanning five decades.
Curated by visual artist Rund Alarabi and programmer Vincent Stroep in the context of the 25th edition of the Courtisane Festival (1 — 5 April 2026).

Tijdens de Vrijdagavonden presenteren we 9 weken lang een programma rond één of meerdere kunstenaars, een collectief of organisatie. We bieden lokale partners een platform. En we stellen kunstenaars centraal waar Kunsthal Gent momenteel mee samenwerkt. Iedere vrijdagavond is anders: van talks en filmvertoningen tot gesprekken, queer readings en manifesten.

During Friday Evenings, we present a 9-week programme around one or more artists, a collective or organisation. We offer local partners a platform. And we highlight artists with whom Kunsthal Gent is currently collaborating. Every Friday night is different: from talks and science fiction to lectures and book presentations.
