This session brings together two compelling VR works that imagine life in the wake of environmental and human disruption.
In Planet City, directed by Liam Young, you step into a speculative future where the entire global population inhabits a single, ultra‑dense city, allowing the rest of the world to return to wilderness. As this vast metropolis unfolds around you, a young climate activist narrates its origins, offering both a radical vision of tomorrow and a sharp reflection on today’s ecological challenges.
You will then experience Address Unknown: Fukushima Now, a VR documentary by Arif Khan that explores the long-term impact of the 2011 nuclear disaster. Through volumetric capture and photogrammetry, the work draws you into the memories of former residents who can no longer return home. Their voices and stories form a moving meditation on loss, resilience, and the shifting meaning of “home” in the aftermath of catastrophe.
VR Film Screening at Bozar is designed to be welcoming and accessible, with dedicated guides on-site to assist you throughout the experience.
