About this Event
Summer has come and almost gone, making way for the final months of the year that all end with the suffix "-ber." They bring with them many things: colder weather, comfy sweaters, tasty pumpkin flavored treats, shorter days, and the Holiday Season! I'm not too jazzed about the shorter days but everything else is more than welcome. Especially the comfy sweaters. Maybe not the colder weather for some of y'all.
To officially kick off Fall and the Holiday Season, we've got something super special planned for you, our favorite volunteers!
Our 6th birthday party!!
We're turning 6 this year and want you to come help us celebrate 6 years of Voluntbeering. The only thing you'll need to bring with you is yourself - no need for any gifts!*

Read below for details about our 6th birthday party:
Heartland Alliance:
- Meet at 10AM at Chicago Farmworks - 400 N. Albany (Please use this address and don't google Chicago Farmworks, it will direct you to wrong place!)
- We'll have 120 volunteers W**d the farm and adjacent community garden, pick up trash around the farm and in the residential area, saw down small invasive trees, and other activities as needed.
Afterparty:
- At 1PM, we'll take off our gloves, dust the dirt off and come together to celebrate 6 whole years of VU!
- There will be games, food, drink, and fun!
Food (available for purchase):
- Eddie's Offspring Catering (vegetarian and vegan options available)
- Banato (banana-based sorbet)

- Great Central Beer

*P.S. We work hard to provide fun events for you all year round, and that takes a lot of resources. If you'd like to donate any amount (we're suggesting $5) when signing up to help cover the cost of the this event's festivities as well as for the needs of future events, we'd greatly appreciate it!
