Volunteer work party: Learn about grass maintenance at the Croft

Come join us at the Croft between 6 - 8pm on Thursday 2 May 2024 for a work party where you will learn grass maintenance skills.

While the contractor is working at the Old Changing Rooms, we will be learning some garden maintenance and landscaping skills at the Croft, which is the community garden next door to the construction site.

This event is an opportunity to see demonstrations of tools that cut grass and have a go yourself! You will meet other people from the area and also find out more about the Croft community garden.

So, come to the Croft:

• Practice strimming the grass with electric and petrol strimmers
• Use a petrol lawnmower
• Use edging shears
• Find out how often you should cut your grass and at what time of year
• Top tips for dealing with overgrown grass

Meet at the Croft at 6pm on Thursday 2 May 2024. The entrance to the Croft is on the left on the main path through the Queen’s Park Recreation Ground, when you enter from Langside Road.

We will provide all the necessary tools, PPE, and refreshments to get the job done.
