About this Event
Redemptive Plastics is a collaborative project between alt_ Chicago, an artist-led, faith-based, community-driven nonprofit based on the West side of Chicago that revitalizes neighborhoods utilizing the arts as a tool; and Happy Returns Studio, a Chicago studio working on the roundabout of robotics, recycling and recreation.
This project focuses on collecting and REDEEMING discarded plastic in the community and examines what else can simultaneously be redeemed. We are a collective of artists, activists, cohort members and volunteers working together to transform plastic into functional artwork.
Join us for a 3 hour event where you will help us sort can carriers by color. It's a neccesary step before we're able to shred and melt them into plastic beams and we can't do it without you! We look forward to meeting you.
*Children 8 and up are welcome to participate
*We have limited space at this volunteer event and want to maximize results! If you sign up to be a participant and cannot make it for any reason, please cancel or email [email protected] so that we can work to fill your spot.
