About this Event
We need help planting trees to create the native, broadleaved woodlands of the future.
Join us to help increase tree cover in the heart of Bristol! You'll be helping to plant trees around the grounds of Greenway Centre, including a small woodland area that will expand onto Badock's Wood nature reserve. A mix of native species will be planted to expand the habitat for wildlife in the area, as well as a few fruit trees for community picking.
Please bring your own gloves if you can, any gardening gloves will do. If you don't have any, we have spares you can borrow. You will need to wear appropriate footwear with good grip and ankle support (wellies or walking boots are recommended), and please wear weather-appropriate clothing. All tools will be provided. Bring some lunch, or there are corner shops nearby and a cafe in the Greenway Centre. Teas and coffees will be provided. Toilets are available in the Greenway Centre. We usually plant from 10am - 3pm (or an earlier finish if it all gets planted!) but please feel free to pop along for as long as you like within those times.
Please refer to your confirmation email from Eventbrite for specific directions to the planting site. The exact location, meeting point and parking information will be sent upon signing up.
The site is located at the Greenway Centre, Doncaster Rd, Bristol, BS10 6AH.
Bike shelters are available on site, and bus numbers 36 and 2 stop close to the Greenway Centre and Southmead Adventure Playground.
Plenty of parking is available within the Greenway Centre car park. Alternative parking is available on residential streets surrounding the centre. Volunteers will need to organise their own transport to site. We encourage lift sharing where possible.
